Comments Men's basketball led Thursday's TV ratings: the quarterfinal between China and Lithuania got the highest 9.0% with 4,981,000 viewers during a two hours long broadcast on CCTV 5, in which YAO Ming had 29 points and 11 rebounds for China but didn't stop the undefeated Lithuania. Another quarterfinal, United States against Spain, was rated the second at 6.8%, reaching a significantly large number of viewers as well. Sailing race, a game that few Chinese could participate, was on air for about fifteen minutes on CCTV 5 during the prime time with a rating of 4.6%, ranked the fourth. Women's hockey bronze medal match, China vs. Argentina, was broadcast in late night on CCTV 1 (1.6% TV rating, ranked No.5). It attracted about 862,000 viewers in which 61.9% are males above 15 years old.
