Men's table tennis singles gold medal match between Wang Hao (CHN) and RYU Seung Min (KOR) received the highest TV rating on Monday (12.8%), attracting an average 7,066,000 viewers during the seventy minutes long broadcast on CCTV 5. Chinese men's basketball's one-point comeback victory (67-66) over Serbia and Montenegro was the second highest, rated at 8.1% with an average 4,481,000 audience. It was followed by men's table tennis singles bronze medal match between WANG Liqin (CHN) and WALDNER Jan-Ove (SWE), a 6.6% rating game.

CCTV 5 got significantly high market shares, close to thirty percent, from the three most watched sport programs during the night time bands from 18:00 to 23:30.
