The Tianjing Government announced on January 16, 2004 that they are seeking business partners for the Tianjing Olympic Centre Stadium.

The Olympic Centre in Tianjin will be holding some of the football qualification matches for the 2008 Olympics. The Tianjin Olympic Centre Stadium, currently under construction, is a large-scale facility and has been designed to fulfil international standards.

The stadium has been designed to hold international football and track and field competitions. Functional area includes shopping malls, an exhibition hall, a conference room, a fitness centre, a water sports centre, an international sports exchange centre and a sports hotel. The Centre is expected to become the focus point for cultural and entertainment events in Tianjin after the Olympics games. Many facilities are being incorporated in the stadium for future public use.

Under bidding are the commercial areas for rent on each floor of the building with a total space of 35000 sq. m; namely:

A business centre
Networking areas
A fitness centre
Restaurants and bars
62 VIP facilities
16 shop stalls.

Tianjin is hoping to attract 300 million RMB in investment, and the total annual turnover from these facilities is estimated to reach 800 million RMB.
