Sports Facilities Construction and Standards Authority seeks business partners
At present, there are no existing national standards for sports facilities in China. The Sports Facilities Construction and Standards Authority of the State General Administration of Sports of P.R. China (the Standards Office) was created to set standards and oversee the implementation and management of these standards. It is also responsible for the issue of compliance certificate to stadium owners.
To further improve the standards of all aspects of sports facilities and meet the development requirements of China's sports facilities construction the Standards Office has established a Partnership Program on Sports Facilities Standardization Research. The Program aims to establish close partnerships with leading enterprises in related industries, enabling the partner enterprises to directly participate in the setting and implementation of standards for sports facilities in China.
The Authority welcomes Toshiba Lighting as the first company to join the Partnership Program, to help establish standards for stadium and arena lighting. The Partnership program provides the perfect opportunity for companies and organizations wishing to establish a high profile and respected business presence in China.
Altogether 11 standards will be set with the approval of the State General Administration of Sports of PR China. Expert advice is still required for the following:
- Running tracks
- Tennis courts (Partner found)
- Artificial turf for football fields
- Natural turf for football fields
- Multi-purpose wooden floors (Partner found)
- LED displays
- Swimming pools (swimming, diving, water polo, water ballet pools)
- Stadium lighting systems (Partner found)
- Ice rinks
- Intelligence systems for sports buildings (Partner found)
- Stadium public safety systems
